Thousands of youngsters will take to the stage to show off their moves in one of the country's largest dancing events.

Children from schools across Brighton will showcase their choreography at the Dome in Let's Dance.

Some 2,000 children aged between five and 18 from 70 schools across the city will take part over the week-long festival.

It has been organised by Katie Booth and her team at Dorothy Stringer school for the last 19 years.

She said: "It is such a wonderful event to be part of and every year I am blown away by the commitment and enthusiasm that the young people in our city bring to the stage.

"The show is not an event solely for experienced dancers, or a competition, but an opportunity for young people to take part and create life-long memories in one of our city’s most amazing venues."

The event is said by organisers to promote healthy and active lifestyles among youngsters but also ensuring that dance and physical activity remains a high priority in schools across Brighton.
