World Book Day returned for 2024 with children across the county dressing up as their favourite literary characters.
Youngsters were inspired to go to school dressed as characters from their favourite books, with some great classics like Harry Potter, The Mad Hatter and Paddington as well as newer favourites such as Julia Donaldson's The Stick Man and Diary Of A Wimpy Kid.
The charity event is held annually across the UK on the first Thursday of March to encourage young people to read more.
Whether you dedicate weeks to creating your child's costume or face a last-minute panic in the morning every time, World Book Day is still a day of magic for many.
Don't miss our picture specials of the photos sent in by readers which will be published in The Argus newspaper on Saturday and Monday.
And on Tuesday there will be a special picture supplement of even more World Book Day pictures submitted by schools across Sussex.
