A woman has died after falling from cliffs.
Police officers and fire crews were called to the cliffs at Brighton Marina at around 8am this morning amid fears for the welfare of a woman.
Firefighters used ropes and police cordoned off parts of the road and undercliff walk during the incident.
She had fallen from the cliff and was confirmed dead. Her family have been informed.
A spokeswoman for Sussex Police said: "Emergency services were called to the cliffs at Brighton Marina today at around 8am to concerns for the welfare of a woman.
"A woman in her 50s fell from the cliff and has sadly been confirmed deceased. Her next of kin has been informed and the death has been passed to the coroner."
