A jealous and controlling ex-boyfriend launched a frenzied, murderous attack on his ex’s new lover after bursting in on them in bed together.
Kaydon Prior, 23, screamed “I love you” at Alicia Parrin as he repeatedly stabbed Harrison Tomkins with a 16cm long hunting knife.
Prior faces a life sentence after a jury found he stabbed the 25-year-old lifeguard to death in a jealous rage after finding him in the flat in Arthur Road, Crawley, on August 13 last year.
His friend Jason Curtis, 22, was also found guilty of murdering Mr Tomkins.
The pair were also found guilty of being in possession of an offensive weapon and Prior was additionally found guilty of common assault.
Curtis, of Lairdale Road, Lambeth, shook his head and rested it on the dock after the verdicts were delivered. Prior looked across at him and shrugged.
Chichester Crown Court heard Prior launched his attack after bursting into Ms Parrin's bedroom and ripping the duvet from the bed.
He pinned the defenceless Mr Tomkins to the bed by his legs before stabbing him ten times.
The court heard Prior had refused to accept his relationship with Ms Parrin had ended.

Ms Parrin, 21, described Prior as "controlling" and "violent" during their year long relationship.
Jurors were told how Curtis and Prior had been out in Chelsea, London, to celebrate Curtis’ 22nd birthday, but made their way back to Crawley at around 1.30am.
During the journey, they found out Prior’s ex-girlfriend was out in Crawley town centre with another man. That man being Harrison Tomkins.
Mr Tomkins worked with Ms Parrin at the K2 leisure centre in Crawley and the pair first got together after a charity boxing match.
Prior and Curtis were then seen on CCTV outside Medusa cocktail bar in Crawley at 3am looking for her, before getting a taxi to her flat in Arthur Road.
The pair gained entry to the communal area and heard her and Harrison inside the flat, prompting Prior to call for a taxi to go to his home address in Hazelwick Road. Curtis, an air conditioning fitter, stayed behind.
Prior was seen on CCTV going into his flat and coming back out just four minutes later. He then returned to Arthur Road in the same taxi.
Prosecution argued that Prior returned home to get a key to his ex-girlfriend's flat and a knife in order to carry out the attack on Mr Tomkins, who was not known to him, and that he left Curtis watching the address.
At 5.30am, Prior and Curtis burst into Prior’s ex-girlfriend’s flat. Seconds later, Mr Tomkins was fatally stabbed multiple times.
As he left the flat, Prior grabbed Ms Parrin by the hair and punched her saying: "I should stab you too."
When emergency services arrived, Ms Parrin was covered in blood.
The jury was shown harrowing images of her blood soaked bed and police body worn video of her moments after the attack.
A major search operation was launched by the Surrey and Sussex Police Major Crime Team, including the use of a drone, and Curtis was found hiding in bushes nearby.
During his arrest, he said to an officer: “Who’s been murdered? I’ve been on a night out as it’s my birthday.”
Shortly after, Prior was arrested at his home address and the pair were later charged and remanded in custody.
Prior and Curtis are due to be sentenced on 23 April.
