Four people have been arrested after a police pursuit across part of Sussex.
The driver of a blue Ford Focus failed to stop when required by police when travelling near Pyecombe on the A23.
The car was pursued onto the A27 eastbound, where it was involved in a crash near Ashcombe Roundabout between Falmer and Lewes.
The occupants of the car fled the scene but were quickly detained by officers on foot, assisted by the National Police Air Service helicopter.
Four men have been arrested and released on bail, pending further enquiries.
A 21-year-old man from Hastings was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop when required by police and possession of a firearm without a certificate.
A 21-year-old man from Battle was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and failing to stop when required by police.
A 25-year-old from Hastings was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop when required by police, possession of a firearm without a certificate, aggravated vehicle taking and dangerous driving.
A 30-year-old man from Hastings was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop when required by police and possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
Police have issued a renewed appeal for witnesses of the incident, which took place shortly after 6pm on January 27.
Officers are urging anyone who saw what happened, or captured anything on dash cam, CCTV or mobile phone, to come forward.
