Strictly Come Dancing winner Ellie Leach is set to take to the stage in a theatre adaptation of Cluedo.
The actress and glitterball winner will be taking on the role of Miss Scarlett in the touring cast of Cluedo 2 – The Next Chapter when it comes to Brighton's Theatre Royal in March.
The play comes as the original board game, inspired by a building in Rottingdean, celebrates its 75th anniversary.
Ellie, who starred in Coronation Street before taking to the dance floor, said: “After an incredible year I’m so excited to join the cast of Cluedo 2.
“I am delighted to make my stage acting debut as Miss Scarlett and I can’t wait to work with the talented cast.”
Ellie takes over from Helen Flanagan who was due to take on the role of Miss Scarlett but was forced to withdraw on medical grounds.
Ellie played Faye Windass in Coronation Street for more than a decade. She went on to win Strictly Come Dancing last year with her partner Vito Coppola.
She will take up the role alongside Jason Durr, playing Colonel Mustard.
He said: “I’m thrilled to be joining the cast of Cluedo 2 as Colonel Mustard. I was a huge fan of the Cluedo board game as a child and the Colonel is such a great character.
“I am looking forward to bringing laughter and this ultimate whodunnit to audiences across the UK in its 75th anniversary year.”
Cluedo is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. Tudor Close in Dean Court Road, Rottingdean, is thought to have inspired the original murder mystery board game.
First editions of the board game were called Murder At Tudor Close.
Cluedo 2 will play at the Theatre Royal from Tuesday, March 19, until Saturday, March 23.
