A fight saw part of the city centre cordoned off last night.

Police responded to the altercation in Valley Gardens, Brighton, shortly after 5.20pm.

Part of Gloucester Place was cordoned off while emergency services gave a man first aid.

Sussex Police said the man declined further medical treatment.

A force spokesman said: “A cordon was set up by officers to secure the scene and to facilitate the initial treatment of the man.

“Following completion of welfare checks on the man, the scene was then stood down.”
