A man has died after falling from a flat window in an early hours “disturbance”.

The 52-year-old man was pronounced dead after falling from a flat window in Brunswick Place, Hove, in the early hours of Monday morning.

Two men, aged 74 and 53, have been arrested in connection with the death.

The victim’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: "In the early hours of Monday morning (January 22), emergency services responded to a report of a person falling from height in Brunswick Place, Hove.

"A man aged 52 was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

"Two men, aged 74 and 53, have been arrested in connection with the death, and they are assisting with police enquiries.

"There will be an increased police presence in the area while further enquiries are undertaken.

"Witnesses or anyone with information about what happened is asked to report it to Sussex Police online or call 101, quoting Operation Marsworth."

Residents reported hearing a “scream and a smash” in the early hours of the morning and seeing a person being treated at the scene of the incident.

One man added: "I was in the living room and heard a scream and a smash.

"It was very strange."

Glass from a smashed window was scattered across the pavement below the window.

Officers stood outside the property while enquiries continued this morning.
