Three people have denied conspiring to cause grievous bodily harm with intent against a man on a country lane.
Christopher Smith, Megan McQuade and Stephen McNicol will stand trial on August 19.
They are accused of conspiring to cause grievous bodily harm with intent against a man in Underhill Lane near Hassocks on March 12, 2022.
Smith, 25, of Denham Road, Burgess Hill, appeared at Hove Crown Court where he pleaded not guilty to the charge.

McQuade, 21, of Mill Road, Burgess Hill, and McNicol, 30, of Acre Close, Haywards Heath, denied the charge at an earlier date.
Smith was released on bail by Judge Jeremy Gold KC.
The trial location has not been confirmed yet.
