A market has been ranked one of the best in the country.

The Open Market, in Marshalls Row, just off London Road, Brighton, has been named the tenth best market in the UK.

It is home to more than 30 traders and ranked highly due to a high number of Google searches for it as well as its average rating.

It has an average star rating of 4.2 on Google and reviewers praise the variety of produce on offer.

Emi Glover, a local guide for Brighton, said: “We popped by on a Sunday. There were a few local sellers offering freshly baked bread, colourful clothing and knits, books and candles.”

The market was one of only three in the top ten to be open seven days a week.

The research, by Capital On Tap, a business credit card company, found that Camden Market in London was the most popular in the country.
