Nando’s has denied it is experiencing supply chain issues despite one of its restaurants shutting early after it ran out of chicken.
Hungry crowds were turned away from the Nando’s in Crawley Leisure Park on Sunday with staff telling people they had nothing to serve.
It sparked fears online that the chicken restaurant chain could be having issues sourcing supplies, but a spokeswoman for the company has rubbished the claims.
She said: “The restaurant had one of its busiest days, we’re sorry we closed a little early and we‘re open today as normal.”

In 2021, Nando’s was forced to shut 50 of its restaurants nationwide due to chicken shortages.
It came just one week after KFC announced it was running a reduced menu for a limited time for the same reason.
Just three years before, 600 KFC sites had to close due to a lack of chicken in the supply chain.
