Fire crews fought to tackle a caravan blaze on the seafront.
They were called to Marine Parade in Seaford after the vehicle burst into flames.
Four fire engines were spotted at the scene.
Marine Parade has been closed in both directions from Claremont Road to Edinburgh Road, with heavy traffic reported.
It comes as roads nearby faced severe disruption after a section of the A27 was closed due to an accident earlier this morning.
A spokeswoman for East Sussex Fire and Rescue said: "We were called at 9.36am on January 9 to reports of a single motorhome vehicle fire on Marine Parade, Seaford.
"Four engines from Newhaven, Seaford and Eastbourne were called to attend. Crews used breathing apparatus, two jets and firefighting foam to extinguish the fire.
"A thermal imaging camera was used to check for hot spots.
"There were no casualties and the fire is reported to be accidental."
