A man was hit in the face with a knuckleduster while sitting in his van.
The man was approached by a hooded man in a black mask and suffered facial injuries after being hit.
Police are now searching for the attacker following the attack in Wisborough Green near Billingshurst on December 8.
A Sussex Police spokesman said that the man was attacked in Durbans Road opposite the village cricket pitch.

The police spokesman added: "A knuckleduster or similar weapon is believed to have been used to assault the victim, causing facial injuries.
"The suspect is described as 6 ft tall and wearing a long black coat with a hood, a black face mask, and grey gloves.
"If you were in the area and saw what happened, or have any information about the incident, report it online or call 101 quoting 560 of 08/12."
