The city’s newest office building with a roof terrace is nearing completion.

Work began on the four-storey building on the corner of Church Street and Portland Street, Brighton, in November 2022.

The plot had been empty for 26 years but developer MRP said the new workspace, called The Portland Building, will “revitalise” the area.

Now, the building is nearing completion and will be finished by the end of March.

The building will have two terraces looking out to sea.

Ben MacPhee, development manager at MRP said: “We are looking forward to the completion of this best-in-class highly sustainable new office building in Q1 2024, revitalising a Brighton city centre site that has lain vacant for more than 20 years.

“MRP are long-standing investors in the city, having completed two other major office developments here in recent years, attracting new occupiers and helping local businesses grow and upgrade their workspace.

“The Portland Building provides a great opportunity for businesses to access new all-electric and low carbon Grade A office space in the heart of Brighton and it is sign of our continued commitment to support the development of the city and the wider economy.”
