A teenage boy was robbed of his vape and cash before being attacked.
The 14-year-old was approached by another boy in Park Road, Burgess Hill, who demanded he hand over the items he had on him.
The attacker, 15, then hit the boy before someone intervened.
He was taken to hospital as a precaution and later discharged.

The incident happened at around 4.30pm on December 28.
The 15-year-old, from Burgess Hill, was arrested yesterday on suspicion of robbery. He has since been bailed, pending further enquiries.
