People had to be 'evacuated' while emergency services dealt with a fire.
Multiple fire engines attended the bedroom blaze in Davigdor Road, Hove, this evening.
A passerby saw residents outside their flats standing on the pavement in the road while firefighters worked.
A spokeswoman from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said the fire is now out and crews are starting to scale down the operation.
She said everyone has been accounted for.
“At 17:41 on 02/01/24 we were called to a residential property in Davigdor Road, Hove,” she said.
“Crews attended and used breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to put out the fire which was in the bedroom on the second floor.
“All persons have been accounted for and the crews are now starting to scale down.”
