The manslaughter trial of Constance Marten and Mark Gordon over the death of their baby daughter has been delayed.

Constance Marten and Mark Gordon pleaded not guilty to five counts relating to daughter Victoria after her body was found in an allotment near Stanmer Villas, Brighton.

They are charged with manslaughter by gross negligence of the girl, referred to in the charges as Baby A, between January 4 and February 27.

The pair also face charges of perverting the course of justice by concealing the body, concealing the birth of a child, child cruelty and allowing the death of a child.

They were due to stand trial at London’s Old Bailey on January 2 but at a hearing at the same court on Tuesday, the trial was pushed back until January 15.

Police found remains at an allotment in Hollingbury in March this year after a major search.
