The A27 at Emsworth will remain shut into the evening after this afternoon’s two-car collision.
Emergency services responded to the crash just after midday on Tuesday and the road has been shut since.
Now, West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed the A27 will stay closed into the evening.
A spokesman said: “Due to an earlier road traffic collision, the A27 Westbound between Chichester and Emsworth is closed.

“The road is likely to remain closed for some time, so please avoid the area and use alternative routes when travelling.”
People driving towards Portsmouth should exit the A27 at Fishbourne roundabout, take the first exit onto the A259 westbound, rejoin the A27 at the Emsworth intersection.
Police and paramedics are at the scene.
