The death of an elderly woman who was taken to hospital after a fire was not related to the fire.

An investigation into the death of the 99-year-old woman found that her death on November 13 was not caused by a blaze in a neighbouring flat.

Investigations are ongoing into the fire and a man was arrested shortly after the incident. He was released on bail pending further enquiries.

A spokesman for Sussex Police added that an inquest into her death will now not take place after it was determined she died of natural causes.
