Hundreds of runners dressed as Father Christmas took over the seafront this morning for the annual Santa Dash fun run.

Runners donned red suits, white beards and Santa hats to dress up as Father Christmas and celebrate the annual event.

Event goers braved the wind and rain to take on the 5km run and raise money for children’s charity Rockinghorse in the process.

The fun run, which started next to Hove Lawns before heading to Hove Lagoon and looping back round, saw hundreds of red-suited runners this year.

Previously the event had raised more than £7,000 for Rockinghorse in their mission to support hospitals such as the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital in Brighton and the Trevor Mann baby unit.
