A would-be bank robber demanded that bank staff hand over cash but was stopped in his tracks after they refused to hand him the money.
The man stormed into the Lloyd’s bank with a re-usable shopping bag and his face covered and demanded that staff hand over any money.
However, when staff refused to bow to his demands, the man left empty handed. Police are now searching for him and have released CCTV images of him to help identity the man.
The man, dressed in a khaki hoodie and grey tracksuit bottoms with his hood up and face covered, was seen loitering outside the entrance to the bank on Uckfield High Street before the failed hold-up.
He left in the direction of Luxford car park after the incident, which happened on Friday, November 10 just after 9am.
A Sussex Police spokeswoman said: “Investigating officers are appealing for any witnesses to get in touch, including anyone who may have seen a man matching this description in the area around the relevant time.
“Anyone with information or any relevant CCTV, dash cam or doorbell footage is asked to contact police online or by calling 101 quoting serial 329 of 10/11.”
