As the icy winds and sundown came upon both teams, the Under 15B’s last match was exciting and ended on a high. Christ’s Hospital School had an exhilarating final hockey match of the season. Young ladies from Year ten went head-to-head to Roedean Girls School and secured a victory as they scored seven goals. This match was played eleven aside with two substitutes switching every five minutes or so.

A fabulous four goals were scored in the first half, however, there were things the team could have improved on, and they did not play at their best ability. The first half saw end-to-end action, testing defensive players also each goalkeepers making crucial saves.

Nevertheless, in the second half of the match, the team played much better than in the first half as they used the channels of the pitch more. But Christ’s Hospital’s coaches decided to switch the positions around to make the game more challenging and enjoyable! This half was much better than the first and we scored another three goals!

Hockey is an entertaining game to play as well as watch. I definitely recommend to readers to try this sport! This is because you could learn many skills in addition to, developing discipline while practicing teamwork/communication. It is a display of a mix of skill, determination including strategy.

As the final whistle was blown, Christ’s Hospital’s team burst into a celebration signalling the last fixture of the season was now over. In the end, Roedean picked two girls as the players (attack and defence) of the match as a way of congratulating the players, vis-versa for C.H. The last match of the season was a spectacular performance. Well done to both teams!
