A section of the A259 is closed and parts of Eastbourne are without water after a water main burst overnight.
Water was seen erupting from drains in the town late last night after the pipe ruptured, causing outages to homes.
The A259 Seaside is closed in both directions between A2021 Whitley Road and B2106 Beach Road while teams from South East Water work to repair the water main.
A spokesman for South East Water said: “We’re really sorry to those who are experiencing low water pressure or no water at the moment.
“This has been caused by a burst main which we are trying to fix as quickly as we can.
“We can’t say just yet how long this will take but please rest assured we’re doing everything we can to get it back up and running as soon as possible.”
