Four restaurants in the county have scooped up awards dubbed the "Curry Oscars". 

The Asian Curry Awards held a ceremony earlier this week to crown winners for each category.

Awards were handed out for each region of the country, as well as for different types of Asian cuisine including Nepalese and Thai. 

Two restaurants in the county won in the awards for the South East.

Tarana in Turners Hill, Crawley, won for its regional and traditional Indian dishes.

For India Gate in Chichester this was its seventh Asian Curry Awards win.

Issa Sushi in South Street, Worthing, won best Japanese restaurant.

The restaurant opened in 2017 and has gone from strength to strength. 

Diners praise its range of dishes and the ability to share them with groups.

Hove's Bali Brasserie was crowned Asian Oriental restaurant of the year.

The restaurant in First Avenue serves Indonesian and Malaysian food and is also home to a bar with DJs, live music and karaoke.

The restaurants received their awards at a ceremony which took place at Mayfair’s Grosvenor House on November 19.
