Police have released CCTV images of a group of people they wish to speak to after a theft at a restaurant in the city centre.

The group are believed to have stolen money from two women at a Harvester restaurant in Madeira Drive in Brighton.

The pair had entered the Harvester restaurant near Brighton Palace Pier at around 1pm on August 18, after attending a bank in North Street.

They had a quantity of cash with them, but once inside the restaurant, a group distracted them by spilling liquid in order to steal the money.

Officers investigating the incident have released new CCTV images of the people they wish to speak with in connection with the incident.

The first suspect is an Asian man in his 30s with short dark hair, wearing a white hooded top, jeans and carrying a black backpack.

A second suspect is an Asian man in his 40s with dark hair, wearing a black flat cap, green jumper, grey trousers, dark shoes and carrying a black backpack.

A third suspect is a man in his 40s wearing glasses, a black baseball cap, a blue and white striped polo shirt, blue jeans and carrying a black backpack.

A fourth suspect is an Asian man wearing glasses, a black puffer-style jacket and jeans.

A fifth suspect is a woman in her 50s or 60s, wearing a white blouse and a black jacket when entering the premises, with black trousers and with a light blue sun hat that obscured her face.

She was also carrying a black handbag and a light blue tote bag.

Witnesses, anyone who can identify the suspects or anyone with information is asked to contact Sussex Police online or by calling 101, quoting serial 1015 of 18/08/2023.
