An estate agency owner will be sentenced after pleading guilty to assaulting a former girlfriend.

At Lewes Crown Court on Friday, Matthew Pahlavan, 41, of Kingsway in Hove, admitted assault by beating, putting a person in fear of violence by harassment and sending communications with intent to cause distress or anxiety.

Pahlavan, managing director of Truemans estate agency in Hove, pleaded not guilty to two further counts of assault by beating.

The Crown Prosecution Service accepted the three guilty pleas and chose not to take the remaining charges to trial.

Pahlavan has been released on conditional bail and will appear for sentencing on January 12.

His name and picture have been removed from the Truemans website since he first appeared at magistrates court on October 20, however he remains listed as a director of the estate agency on the Companies House website.
