A man and a woman suffered life-threatening injuries after a crash.
The 47-year-old man and 27-year-old woman remain in hospital after a two-car crash on the A22 in Golden Cross yesterday morning.
A car caught fire at the scene. A stretch of the road was closed for large parts of the day while emergency services dealt with the incident.
Air ambulance crews also attended but The Argus understands that the crash victims were taken to hospital by land.
Sussex Police continue to investigate.

A police spokesman said: “Emergency services attended a collision involving two cars on the A22 at Golden Cross at just after 10.30am on Sunday, November 12.
“A 44-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
“Anyone who witnessed the collision or has any dash-cam footage is asked to contact Sussex Police online or by calling 101 quoting Operation Dolton.”
