Most petrol stations around Brighton and Hove are above the national average for fuel prices.
More than half of the stations in and around the city cost more than the average for the UK, sitting at 154.5p per litre of unleaded petrol.
Some stations in the city are as much as 4p cheaper than the most expensive in the city meaning drivers could save nearly £2 at the pumps on an average fill-up.
Asda’s petrol station in Brighton Marina is currently the cheapest station to fill up a petrol car at in the city. Prices are currently set at 152.7p, more than a penny below the national average.
At the other end of the scale, the Texaco garage in Old Shoreham Road, Portslade is currently the most expensive in the city to fill up at with prices standing at 157p.

Other petrol stations below the national average include Esso in Eastern Road, Sainsbury’s in West Hove and Asda in Crowhurst Road.

The news comes as Hastings and Battle were found to have some of the lowest fuel prices in the country at more than 10p below the national average.
The cheapest pumps in the area are at Sainsbury’s in Sedlescombe Road where prices are 143.9p per litre.
Drivers would save £4 filling up a 45-litre tank compared to Brighton’s cheapest pumps and £4.77 compared to the national average.
