A woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a crash with a van on the A259.
The A259 Marine Parade in Kemp Town, Brighton, was closed for more than an hour while police investigated.
The force is investigating the crash which happened near the turning of Eaton Place at around 10pm on October 11.
The driver of the car, a woman in her 20s, was treated by ambulance and was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
No arrests have been made following the crash.
Firefighters had to free the woman from her car by using cutting gear.
The road was cleared of debris and reopened at around 11.15pm.
