A Sussex-based chef is set to compete in the latest season of MasterChef: The Professionals as the cookery show returns to the BBC.
Rosie Furnival, owner and head chef of The Fig in High Street, Rye, will enter the famous MasterChef kitchen next week in the first round of the hit show.
Rosie, 34, who has owned the Fig since 2015, said that she is “super excited” to be on the show ahead its launch on Monday.
In a social media post, The Fig said: “We are very excited to announce that our Head chef and owner; Rosie, is taking part in this year’s MasterChef: The Professionals!
“Tune in to see Rosie competing with some of the country’s leading chefs.”
Rosie will feature in the second episode of the show, airing on Tuesday.
The Fig in Rye features a range of Brunch, lunch and dinner dishes with focuses on “fresh, vibrant and healthy food”.
Dishes on the menu include tuna croquettes, chilli beef tacos and vegan arancini.

The series will officially kick off on Monday and lasts for seven weeks and will once again be presided over by judges Monica Galetti, Marcus Wareing and Gregg Wallace.

Marcus Wareing says: “My expectations are high and I’m looking for the very best talent. The chef worthy of the trophy needs guts, flair and absolute focus on reaching that goal.”

The chefs will be faced with renowned food critics including Grace Dent and Jay Rayner as well as serving meals in a two Michelin-star restaurant in Copenhagen.
MasterChef: The Professionals will begin on Monday, October 23 at 9pm. Rosie will feature in the episode on Tuesday, October 24.
