A restaurant has been told to improve after it received a one out of five food hygiene rating.
Novellino, a Middle Eastern restaurant in New Church Road, Hove, is one of 46 restaurants in the city to receive new ratings.
Staff at the Kosher restaurant have been told that “major improvement” is necessary after its latest inspection on September 5.
It was rated one by the Food Standards Agency (FSA), a government department which monitors food safety and hygiene.

The 45 remaining restaurants, cafes, bars, pubs and takeaways all received a four or five rating, meaning their food hygiene is either “good” or “very good”.

What the ratings mean:
There are six different ratings that a venue can be awarded from 0 to 5.
5 - Hygiene standards are very good
4 – Hygiene standards are good
3 – Hygiene standards are generally satisfactory
2 – Some improvement is necessary
1 – Major improvement is necessary
0 – Urgent improvement is required
