With Halloween fast approaching, The Argus examined a recent study which shows how Sussex towns and cities would fare in a zombie apocalypse.
Brighton could face a horde of more than 10,000 zombies roaming around the streets.
On the off chance that doomsday is around the corner, RantCasino.com estimated the number of "undead" creatures based on a sample of almost 370,000 geolocated cemeteries and memorials around the world from public databases.
The study reveals that a total of 10,668 potential zombies could emerge from the city’s 34 cemeteries - 3.66 zombies to every 100 people in the city.
Nearby Lewes would see only 4,242 zombies, but the town’s greater number of cemeteries and higher zombie-to-population ratio could pose a threat to residents.
Mid Sussex is the safest area in the county, with just 3,093 zombies and a low ratio of just two per cent of zombies to residents.
However, the safest place to live in the UK during a zombie apocalypse is the Isles of Scilly, according to the study, with only 98 potential zombies to fend off.
On the other end of the scale, Leeds was ranked the unluckiest place, with a potential 811,422 roaming across the city.
Local authorities in Sussex were ranked and Horsham, with 50 cemeteries, would be the worst place to be in the county in the event of an apocalypse.
A total of 25,296 zombies could be roaming the West Sussex district.
Horsham ranks 103rd overall in the list of UK councils, closely followed by Arun, where is estimated that 24,767 zombies would emerge.
Wealden has the most cemeteries of any Sussex area at 88 and nearly 15,000 zombies could take over on doomsday.
At the other end of the scale is Crawley, ranked the 12th safest place in the UK overall.
With just seven cemeteries, the study says only 1,235 zombies would be in the area. And with its relatively large population, there would only be one zombie to every 100 people.
