A 16-year-old boy will appear in crown court today accused of stabbing another teenager to death in the city centre.
It is alleged that the boy, from Southwick, killed Mustafa Momand near Brighton station at around 5pm last Thursday.
Mustafa collapsed and passersby jumped to try and save him but the 17-year-old died at the Royal Sussex County Hospital.
He will appear at Hove Crown Court today.
Police got to the scene where paramedics were treating Mustafa. The court heard that there “was a lot of blood on the floor”.
District Judge Tessa Szagun said yesterday: “I am sending you to the crown court. The only decision I am making is where you stay in accommodation. You know what was said by the prosecution, you were said to stab Mustafa.”
We will be covering the hearing live from Hove.
