A man was taken to hospital and another arrested after a stabbing in a park.

Police were called at 5.45pm on Tuesday to a report that a man had been attacked in Amelia Park on the A259 near Worthing town centre.

The 43-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Another 43-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.

Photographs show a large cordon placed around the scene of the incident last night.

Two air ambulances also attended.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: “Anyone with any relevant information is asked to report it online or via 101, quoting 1149 of 03/10.”
