It was a bumper month for our September competition with the theme of “reflections” as entries flooded in from the first day.
Our camera club members took the theme and ran with it – producing a huge variety of great results from classic pond and river reflections to some impressive puddle and glass ones.
With dozens of great entries it was difficult to choose only a handful of runners up and give one snapper the title of the September competition winner.
We loved Gábor Lenkey’s picture of a reflection from a puddle on the promenade at Brighton beach.

The blank skies against the austere bench paired perfectly with his title “Waiting For Summer” - little did he know we would be hit with a scorching heatwave later in the month.
Louise Yates captured a glorious image of a peaceful sunset at the West Pier with superb silhouette reflections.
We also really liked Jo Whiting’s snap of a lapwing enjoying a drink in the muddy banks of the River Adur.
But we decided this month’s winner is David Ashdown, whose photograph of reflections in the water at Shoreham Port was just stunning.
The beautiful September sunrise lit the sky beautifully and the reflections of the boatman on the still water dwarfed by the enormous power station was very clever. David wins £50.
The October theme is “autumnal orange”. Post your entry on The Argus Camera Club Facebook page, mentioning where it was taken.
It is one entry per person and the deadline is midnight on October 31. As always, the winner will receive a £50 prize. Good luck.
