Some trains from Brighton were unable to run after a van got wedged underneath a railway bridge.
The van got stuck underneath the railway bridge near Falmer station yesterday at around 11am.
Rail services between Lewes and Brighton could not run until around 1pm as a result.
One eyewitness also claimed that the driver "could not get out".
Sussex Police and Network Rail engineers were at the scene.
Engineers confirmed that services could run as normal at around 1.10pm.
Sussex Police were approached for comment.
