Fatboy Slim is set to be joined by a range of notable people on a half marathon to visit sculptures of Shaun the Sheep around the city.
The Praise You DJ will travel across Brighton and Hove today to visit most of the 42 sculptures for the Shaun by the Sea art trail, stopping at the Brighton i360, the Royal Pavilion, Churchill Square and his own Big Beach Cafe at Hove Lagoon.
Among the people joining Fatboy for his “Bleat Sleep Graze Repeat” fundraiser include chairman of Albion Tony Bloom, managing director of Brighton and Hove Buses Ed Wills and a range of artists who designed some of the sculptures of Shaun the Sheep.
Fatboy, whose real name is Norman Cook, will set off from the Pepper Pot in Hanover at 9am on September 27, before visiting Brighton Marina, the Royal Pavilion, Brighton Station, Churchill Square and ending at the Big Beach Cafe at around 6pm.
Norman previously completed a trail of the city’s snail sculptures back in 2018, visiting all 50 sculptures over the course of 12 hours.
Speaking to The Argus, Norman said: “Walking around them is like walking a marathon, but weather depending it will be a fabulous day.
“When I do it, a lot of the artists come out to meet me, which helps bring it more to life.”
Norman, who is an ambassador for Martlets - the charity behind the trail, also encouraged people to donate and support the hospice during the trail, which lasts until November 5,
He said: “My father-in-law spent his last days at the hospice, which is where the charity came close to my heart. They do such a good job and it’s such a difficult but beautiful thing that they do.”
