One of the city’s best loved fish and chip shops will soon reopen under a different name after a major rebrand.

Bankers Express in Church Road, Hove, will relaunch on Friday as Churchill’s, one of the company’s sister brands.

Churchill’s has been frying since 1923 and has 17 branches across the South East including one in Eastbourne.

Now, the Lipscombe Family, which runs it, has decided to ditch the Bankers Express name for its Churchill’s brand.

Churchill’s said via its Facebook page on Sunday: “We will be bringing you splendidly tasty, sustainably sourced fish and chips, succulent chicken, delicious burgers and much more to Church Road on Friday.

“There’s no better way to continue our 100 years of fish and chips celebration than this.”

Churchill’s in Eastbourne is a firm favourite among residents, with plenty of positive reviews on their Tripadvisor page.

The Argus contacted Churchill’s to ask why the branding will be changed from Bankers Express but did not receive a response.
