A stolen car was torched in a residential street.
The fire, which is being treated as deliberate, began in the early hours of this morning in Harmsworth Crescent, Hangleton.
Firefighters from Hove attended the blaze after a call at 12.17am alerting them to the fire.
They used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
Police were also at the scene.
A spokeswoman for Sussex Police said: "Emergency services attended Harmsworth Crescent, Hove, at around 12.30am on Tuesday, 19 September following a report of a car on fire.
"The fire was extinguished, and no injuries were reported.
"The fire is being treated as deliberate and initial enquiries have identified the car as stolen. The owner has been notified.
"Enquiries are ongoing to identify those responsible and anyone with any information or relevant footage is asked to report online or via 101 quoting 023 of 19/09."
