A Shaun the Sheep art sculpture has been vandalised for a second time with an anti-police acronym was drawn on its face.

The police-inspired sculpture, dubbed WPC Gracie, was first damaged last week but was taken away for repairs and replaced.

Now, the charity statue has been vandalised once again.

A photograph from this weekend shows WPC Gracie on Brighton seafront with “ACAB” scribbled on its face in black pen.

The acronym, standing for “all cops are b******s”, was popularised after previous anti-police protests in recent years.

Sussex Police were approached for comment.

The damage is the third act of vandalism on Shaun the Sheep statues in less than a week after WPC Gracie was previously damaged.

Another sculpture near Pepper Pot in Hanover was also damaged just days into the art trail.

The Shaun the Sheep statues are part of the Shaun by the Sea art tour which includes over a hundred statues of the sheep across Brighton and Hove.

The trail, backed by figures including Peter James and Fatboy Slim, will see the specially designed Shaun the Sheep sculptures auctioned in aid of cancer hospice charity Martlets.

A spokeswoman for Martlets said: “Shaun by the Sea allows families and friends to create precious and special memories together. Sadly, we have seen damage to WPC Gracie which meant this baa-rilliant design had graffiti removed today.

“Our Shaun the Sheep sculptures have a very special job – raising money to help Martlets keep caring for people facing the toughest of times. It’s for this reason that we ask people to look after our sculptures while they are on display.

“We know that WPC Gracie has been much loved by people who have been able to view it so far and we are pleased that over 1000 people have unlocked her on the app. You can help Martlets Keep Caring by donating at shaunbythesea.co.uk/donate.”
