Saltdean Lido will remain open throughout the winter for the first time ever.
Swimmers can enjoy at dip in the pool between 8am and midday on weekends from October 21 until April 28 next year, though it will be closed on weekdays.
Only the main pool will be open, with the children’s splash zone staying closed for the winter.
It means those aged seven and under will not be permitted to swim due to “the dangers cold water presents for children during this season”.
There will also be a sauna on the lido’s lawns all winter offering hot sauna sessions and cold water immersion, while the on-site café will sell hot and cold drinks.
The decision to open in the winter was taken after Saltdean Lido asked the public to complete a survey.

“Everyone has been asking for this for years, so we hope that you will all get behind us and support the year round opening of the Lido,” said a spokesman for the facility.
“But we need your support to make this happen. Without enough customers opening for the Winter Season won't be sustainable for us.”
Season tickets, priced at £95, go on sale today with pay-as-you-go sessions also available to buy.
