A restaurant is “highlighting the joy of dining alone” this month with a special offer.

Carne, which focuses on a variety of meat dishes, officially opened in April and wants to “celebrate” solo diners.

It is offering people a complimentary glass of wine when they buy any starter or main course on the menu throughout the entire week.

The restaurant is declaring the month “solo dining September” as a tribute to people who enjoy eating alone.

Carne, which is in Church Road, Hove, offers “high-quality, ethically sourced meats” and also fish and vegetarian dishes.

"We believe that dining alone is a joy that deserves recognition and celebration," said Phil Bartley, owner of Carne.

“We are very lucky to have a beautiful restaurant with plenty of space so in light of recent news in hospitality with some restaurants struggling to accommodate those dining alone, solo dining September is our way of expressing appreciation for solo diners and offering them a memorable dining experience that combines quality cuisine with the joy of solitude.

“Reservations for Solo Dining September at Carne are now open. Guests are invited to book their tables in advance, but also welcome to walk in.”
