A new seafront nightclub which includes “Brighton’s first-ever dance floor bathroom” is coming to the city.
Horizon will open underneath the King’s Road Arches near West Street on Brighton seafront.
Building work is currently taking place to get the club ready in time for its opening party next Friday, September 22.
It replaces Shooshh which closed after the August Bank Holiday weekend having been open for ten years.
The club will have a main DJ room, a second smaller DJ room and a unisex toilet with a “boiler room” style DJ area where the crowd is all around the artist which will be called “hidden corner”.
A spokesman for Horizon said: “Brighton truly stands apart as boasting one of the best nightlife scenes in the UK, and we’re delighted to continue that reputation with the launch of Horizon.
“Set in an incredible location right on the shores of Brighton, we’re excited to build on the city’s rich heritage and unrivalled atmosphere to create a true standout clubbing experience on the South Coast.
“With much more to be revealed in the coming months, we look forward to welcoming everyone to Horizon and creating unforgettable memories.”
The club will have a more industrial look compared to Shooshh which offered a more “glitzy” interior.
It will also aim to have a focus on “quality music and atmosphere” which will consist of more disco, drum and bass and house music. The main DJ room will be more separated from the smoking area compared to Shooshh which had access straight from the dance floor to the outside.
The VIP area will also be more separated from the main dancefloor and allow guests to be right behind the DJ in booths.
The organisers behind Horizon organised On The Beach festival which was on Brighton seafront in July, Afro Nation festivals and the team behind Louder which organises more than 300 nights each year across the country and abroad in Ibiza.
