A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following an assault.
Emergency services were called to Clayton Avenue in Hassocks yesterday evening following reports of an attack.
A 21-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Offices conducted a search of the area along with house-to-house enquiries but were unable to locate the attacker.
Police have appealed for help to find the man who is a black male, 6ft and large build with short hair and a black beard.
The man was wearing a black tracksuit at the time of the assault, at around 6.45pm on Wednesday.
Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is urged to report it to police online or by calling 101, quoting 1349 of 13/09.
