An air ambulance landed near the steepest part of the London to Brighton Bike Ride after someone collapsed.
Crews landed near the bottom of the notorious Ditchling Beacon which thousands of riders ascended for the 55-mile charity bike ride on Sunday.
A person was given emergency treatment and taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital by road ambulance at around 2.30pm.
Air ambulance crews joined to help care for the patient in the road ambulance while the helicopter flew to East Brighton Park near the hospital.
Upper Ditchling Road which goes up the hill was closed all day for the event.

A South East Coast Ambulance spokesman said: “I can confirm that we were called at approximately 2.20pm on Sunday September 10 to Upper Ditchling Road to reports a person had collapsed.
“Ambulance crews attended and were joined at the scene by the Kent, Surrey, Sussex Air Ambulance Service.
“The person was given emergency treatment before being taken by road to Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton by road, with the air ambulance service team joining us in the ambulance to care for the patient enroute to hospital.”
Sunday’s event is not run by British Heart Foundation which hosted its bike ride in June.
