ArrDee has launched a new spicy fried chicken brand in a “bold step” out of the music industry.
The rapper, 20, real name Riley Davies, has unveiled his latest venture called Ugly Chicken, which will see his “sizzling” chicken sold on takeaway platforms for people across Brighton.
Launching today, Ugly Chicken is “daring and delightful” and offers fried chicken burgers, chicken tenders and chicken wings.
Sides include waffle fries and gooey mac n cheese bites.
All meals come with Ugly Chicken’s own ranch sauce which is a “cooling and creamy essential”.
As if that was not enough, the takeaway also offers a desert of churros with chocolate sauce.
"Ugly Chicken is all about flavour, heat, and style," said ArrDee, from Woodingdean, Brighton.
"We worked on this for months - I wanted everything from the crispiness of the chicken and heat levels, through to the brand and packaging to be perfect. Finally getting to share it with my family and seeing their reaction has been amazing and now we get to share it with the world”.
The rapper is working with Taster, a delivery restaurant group with franchise locations across the UK, so he could put his "creative energy" into crafting a “unique” fried chicken menu and brand.
From recipes to packaging, Ugly Chicken invites everyone to “embark on a premium fried chicken journey”.
The menu "puts spice control in the hands of its customers".
Ugly Chicken says from those who prefer a milder kick to the brave souls in pursuit of a spicy challenge, its customisable spice levels (mild, hot and super hot) cater to a range of palates.
ArrDee said: “When people open their Ugly Chicken bag they're met with a meal that looks as good as it tastes. Order the super hot and tag me to let me know if you can handle it.”
The brand is initially launching on delivery platforms from Brighton, London and Birmingham but has plans to open in other cities next year.
Ugly Chicken launches on Deliveroo, Uber Eats and Just Eat today.
