Two Sussex towns have been rated among the best places to visit in the UK.
Which? has released a list of the best towns and villages to travel to following a survey. The website graded dozens of locations according to several criteria including their peace and quiet, scenery, food and drink.
Arundel made the top 20 towns and villages to visit, with Which? members saying they particularly appreciate the tourist attractions and scenery in the area.
Taking in the historic town’s castle, cathedral and grounds, the site was also rated highly for its attractiveness and peace and quiet in the area.
Arundel was given a 77 per cent “destination score”. Arundel scored five stars for its tourist attractions as well as three stars for food and drink.

The town scored lower on shopping, with two out of five stars, but placed highly for its attractiveness.
Lewes also placed highly on the list, scoring a 74 per cent destination score.
The historic town placed well for its food and drink offerings and was also commended for its shopping.
The survey pulls together opinions from 9,000 Which? members with the best towns on the list celebrated for their “historic buildings, rural charm and quirky, independent spirit”.
