Summer is now over and with the beginning of autumn thoughts may turn to what Halloween events are taking place across Brighton and Sussex in the next month or two.
Although Halloween itself is still quite far away on October 31, there are still plenty of things planned in advance for spooky season.
Whether it is Halloween markets, festivals or club nights people in the county have a lot to pick from.
Here are some of the events scheduled to take place in Brighton and Sussex for Halloween 2023.
Brighton Halloween events 2023
The Cauldron
Address: 1-2 Clarence Gardens, Brighton and Hove, Brighton BN1 2HA
The Caukdron is a venue that is open all year round, but it is perfect for the Halloween season if you fancy brewing your own cocktails.
On its website, it says: "A fantasy-inspired cocktail bar and pub with indoor seating and an outdoor Beer Garden, where you use working magic wands to mix drinks, pour pints and brew molecular cocktails!"

Nightmare in Brighton
This multi-venue event is described as one of "Brighton's biggest" for the Halloween season and will take place on Tuesday, October 31.
Attendees can expect plenty of people in fancy dress, "ghoulish games" and resident DJs.

Spellbound Halloween Party

Taking place on Saturday, October 28 this Alternative 80s and Halloween Anthems night at Komedia should be a treat for some.
Spellbound adds: "Expect party-friendly bangers by The Cure, Siouxsie, The Cramps, Billy Idol, Dead Or Alive, Kate Bush, Soft Cell, The Cult, Depeche Mode etc but also “The Monster Mash”, “Thriller”, “The Time Warp”, “Ghostbusters” and all the other creepy classics you wanna hear.
"There is also fiery cabaret from Laura Loops, retro horror video mash-ups on the screens, and all the usual Hallowe’en fun and nonsense."

Halloween Seafront Block Party

The Halloween Seafront Block Party is one for the students, and it is taking place on Tuesday, October 31.
It says: "Brighton, get yourselves ready for the biggest and most horrifying student party of the year, as the HALLOWEEN SEAFRONT BLOCK PARTY returns."

Sussex Halloween events 2023
Tulley's Shocktoberfest
Address: Unit 2, Turners Hill Rd, Crawley RH10 4PE
Tulley's Shoctoberfest returns once again to show off "dazzling special effects, immersive scenery, live actors, great food and one hell of an atmosphere".
Attractions include Electrick Circus, The Island, The Chop Shop and Doom Town.

Drusillas Park Shriek Week
Address: Zoo Park Ltd, Drusillas, Berwick, Polegate BN26 5QS
If you're looking for something to do with the kids building up to Halloween then Drusillas Park might do the trick with its Shriek Week.
This will be taking place from Saturday, October 21 to Sunday, October 29 and tickets can be bought at the website here.
There will be a live-action haunted house experience in Haunted Heights, a Mummy Mayhem maze adventure, a spider's den, and much, much more.

Halloween Market at The Longshore
Address: 153 Brighton Road, Shoreham-by-Sea, BN43 5LD
A Halloween-related arts, crafts and produce market will be held at The Longshore on Saturday, October 28 from 10 am to 3 pm.
