Photographers captured the rare blue supermoon which lit up the Sussex sky yesterday evening.
Stargazers looked to the supermoon – the second in August – to view the phenomenon which once happens once every two or three years.
The moon was snapped by photographers from across Sussex with the moon popping up over piers and a number of landmarks in the area.
Yesterday’s supermoon was spotted over Brighton’s Palace Pier as well as stunning shots over Belle Tout Lighthouse in Eastbourne and Shoreham Port.
The moon was also captured appearing over the South Downs and in other parts of Sussex.
Other shots, captured from The Argus’s Camera Club Facebook group, also show the size of the full moon which glowed yellow in the Sussex sky.
A supermoon is where the moon appears to be bigger in the sky due to being closer to the earth.
Did you capture the rare moon?
