An encampment of caravans which pitched up on a seaside green with gazebos and horses have been told to leave - with the council looking to pursue legal action if they do not move.
Around 17 caravans were parked at the Goring Greenward site during the Bank Holiday weekend. They were still on the site this morning, with cars and a horse which was chained.
West Sussex County Council has confirmed that they are seeking to remove the caravans from the area.
A council spokeswoman said: “There are currently 17 caravans parked at this location. All have been served with a notice requiring them to vacate the land.
“Should they fail to do so, court proceedings will proceed. We will continue to monitor the site together with Sussex Police.”
